The Five Offerings |

| Below, is a list of the five
offerings in the Old Testament and their respective passages as well
as whether they were required. |

Burnt Offering
-Symbolizes the complete surrender of the worshipper to the service
of God |
1:1-17 |
Voluntary |

Meal Offering
-Points the worshipper to the fact that God is the giver of Earth's
produce which sustains life. |
2:1-16 |

|
Peace Offering
-Symbolized the festive joy of those at peace with God. This was not
to obtain peace with God but to celebrate peace with Him. |
3:1-17 |

|
Sin Offering
-Offering made by one who was willing to repent of his sin. |
4:1-5:13 |
Mandatory |

|
Trespass Offering
-Offering made by one who sinned and caused injury to someone. This
was different from the sin offering in that it demanded the payment
for compensation for the damage done. |
